The husband and I celebrated five years of wedded bliss this past weekend!
We spent the weekend in Las Vegas with some friends and, as is our tradition, we had someone take our picture. I decided on our first anniversary that we needed some sort of tradition. I thought if we had our picture taken every year it would look really neat in a scrapbook someday! You know, such as at the back of a wedding scrapbook that I’m itching to start.
So every year no matter where we happen to be, we get a picture. It’s fun to see how we’ve evolved but also remember where we were. Our Year 3 picture was taken in front of the White House!
Do you have any anniversary traditions? How about any regular photo traditions? Please share!
Congratulations on your anniversary! It looks like you had a great (and delicious!) time!
My husband and I also take a photo each year– and I intend someday to make an anniversary album (I even have an 8″x8″ album sitting around here somewhere for that purpose) but I haven’t started yet. Each year, I sit down the next day to write some journaling about what we did to celebrate that will be included (most likely tucked away in an envelope or pocket) in the album with the pictures.
I already have plans for these pictures. If I have enough room at the end of the wedding scrapbook, I’m going to add a page for each anniversary. We always take a picture and I always collect the business card from the restaurant we ate in.
PS – we shared the dessert with some of our friends, we didn’t eat it all ourselves!
You guys are so cute! I love the idea of doing anniversary photos. We take a photo in the same spot every year. Here’s my link: http://kelocity.com/2011/07/28/the-2nd-annual-wedding-picture-recreation-day/
Your photos are super cute! I’m glad I’m not the only one that does this! I thought we would take a photo in the same spot every year, but the last 3 anniversaries we’ve actually not been home!
Happy Anniversary! Great photo and I love your tradition. I haven’t been to Vegas in years! I always had a blast there. 🙂
Thanks! We love Vegas. You’d be surprised at how much it can change so quickly. We spent much of our time at one of the brand new casinos. The inside of it was just amazing.
